People First Conference
Julian Wang will be the Keynote Speaker for the 30th Annual People First of West Virginia Self-Advocacy Conference will be held in person at Jackson’s Mill 4-H Camp from September 6 through 8th, 2023.
Julian was born in Hong Kong, China, where he was raised for 14 and a half years. He and his family then moved to Lee’s Summit, Missouri period. While in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Julian graduated high school from Lee’s Summit high school in 2011. Julian and his family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, and have set up roots there. Julian, through his lived experience is a strong advocate for those living with disabilities to advocate for themselves. Julian has been connected with the arc of Larimer County for many years in many different roles from volunteer board of directors to being a current staff member as the peer advocate.
Julian has served as president of speaking for ourselves Colorado and people first in Larimer County. Julian is also a member of SARTAC fellowship 2019-2020 and SARTAC Advisory Youth Choice, Youth Voice, is in the book “30 Years of Living With a Disability”, disability and people first speaking for ourselves, Colorado, Julian is excited for the opportunity to partner with individuals living with disabilities and their families to teach self-advocacy, Julian believe that technology can be a strong tool and self-advocacy in his free time Julian enjoys traveling, playing basketball, spending time with family and attending church.
