National Library Week
“There’s more to the story.”
This year national library week is April 23-27, 2023. Throughout the week there will be different things to celebrate.
Monday, April 24: Right to Read Day, the State of America’s Libraries Report is released, including Top Ten Frequently Challenged Books of 2022.
Tuesday, April 25: National Library Workers Day, a day for library staff, users, administrators, and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers.
Wednesday, April 26: National Library Outreach Day (formerly National Bookmobile Day), a day to celebrate library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting their patrons where they are.
Thursday, April 27: Take Action for Libraries Day, a day to rally advocates to support libraries.
Libraries are a great way to get have access to mountains of information. For checking out books or movies to using their computers. All you need is a library card. Some libraries also offer audio books. All you have to do is go in and ask about them and they will give you paperwork to fill out. Once approved you can check out the audio versions of your favorite books. So go support your local libraries and see what they are doing for National Library Week.
